Story Starters

Two weeks ago Room 7 were doing story starters. We were doing story starter because we watched some video's of famous New Zealanders that told us how important writing is. Then we decided that we would have a go at creating our own story starters. Here is the one that i created, I hope that you like it and please feel free to leave me a comment.

Crunch, munch… what was going on? the People mocked Mr Ross the fisherman, because he hadn’t  caught any fish for days, weeks or months. The mocking was horrific  However one, sunny, bright and  fresh morning, when he was pulling  in his net, he heard loud crunching and groaning sounds underneath him  RRRrooooAAAAaaarrrrrrr?
He peered into the deep dark overcast sea underneath his purple canoe.

He saw a  pair of red eyes and long pointed yellow teeth poked up into the air. Mr Ross was terrified! He grabbed his spear and threw it towards the hideous eyes
A wiggling thrashing body turned the water green with its blood. He pulled his spear back and stabbed the body lots of times. Mr Ross tied a rope around the body and he towed the monster back to the village. He dragged the heavy beast onto the shore and called the chief to come and look. “He has killed a taniwha!” the people screamed.  “ Mr Ross you are a legend.”
The chief sliced the taniwha huge stomach open with his thin, sharp rainbow knife. Hundreds of snappers, flounders and sharks fell out of the gaping hole. There were enough fish to feed everyone in the  village for six months. The chief’s wife was so excited with Mr Ross that she made him a cloak out of Taniwha skin. Everyone knew that

Mr. Ross was a hero and they were really proud of him showing off his Taniwha skin.
